One of my go-to’s for a fast and easy Chinese-inspired dish that delivers a little sweet, a little tang, and a little heat all in one bite. Every forkful is a combination of sensations for your palate! From the tender, bite-sized chicken to the deep sweetness of brown sugar and the savory richness of hoisin sauce, the flavors come together beautifully into a glossy, complex sauce that clings to every morsel.

Instructions
In a bowl, combine all of the sauce ingredients and set aside for later.
Cut each thigh into bite size pieces, about 6-8 pieces per thigh depending on their size.
In a gallon zip lock bag, add chicken followed by cornstarch and mix to coat each piece evenly.
In a wok or pan, set over medium high heat, add olive oil. Allow this to get hot.
Lower coated chicken into oil and quickly spread apart. Once chicken is spread apart, let them cook. Allow pieces to sear and form a nice crust, about 5-6 minutes on each side.
Remove the chicken and transfer fried chicken to a plate and cover to keep warm. Any excess oil should be poured out.
In the same pan set over medium to high heat, add your pre-mixed sauce. allow it to come to a boil to thicken and reduce.
Once the sauce has thickened, toss in your fried chicken and mix until each piece is coated in sauce. Optionally, you can garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
